Polly Sohn
Polly Sohn, LISW, EMDR Trained, Queer and Neurodivergent Affirming, DBT Therapist
Polly Sohn (she/her) views the heart of therapy as an authentic, human connection between therapist and client; and sets herself in a supporting role to challenge you, and celebrate you as you navigate the often messy process of healing. To aid in her supporting role, she draws from many different therapeutic modalities to meet client's needs, including: Internal Family Systems Theory (IFS), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Motivational Interviewing, Somatic Therapy, and Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy.
Polly graduated in 2023 from The Ohio State University with her Master's degree in Social Work. Prior to this, she graduated with a degree in Women's, Gender, and Sexuality Studies from Otterbein University. Her unique training offers a systematic approach to the therapy space; allowing all parts that make you, "you", feel heard and understood. Oftentimes, you can hear her saying "therapy is social justice", as deeply tied societal structures can make therapy a place to understand systemic oppression and ultimately empower marginalized voices.
Polly has been a practicing clinician for 5+ years, working primarily in community mental health settings and working with a variety of adult populations, including: neurodivergent and LGBTQ+ individuals, individuals who have experienced trauma, incarcerated individuals, individuals experiencing chronic pain and illness, and individuals coping with life stressors through substance use.
Outside of the therapeutic space, Polly engages in cozy video games with her husband and friends, and cares deeply for her senior cat, Takki.
