Beginning therapy can feel like a big step. We're here to make it easier.

This page has everything you need to get started.

  • What to expect.

Your first session is a chance to get to know your therapist and share what brings you in. You’ll talk about your goals, your history, and what you’re hoping to get out of therapy. You don’t need to prepare anything or have it all figured out, we’ll go at your pace.

Many people feel a mix of emotions when starting therapy: relief, nervousness, curiosity, or even doubt. All of that is normal. Your therapist’s job is to create a safe, nonjudgmental space where you can show up as you are.

  • How to choose a therapist.

We have a team of compassionate, trauma-informed therapists, each bringing their own style, training, and areas of focus. It can be helpful to consider a few things. Some people prefer a structured approach, while others are drawn to open, exploratory work. It might feel important to find a therapist who shares aspects of your identity or uses specific methods like EMDR, somatic therapy, or mindfulness.

If you’re unsure where to begin, that’s completely okay. We’re here to help you find someone who feels like a good fit. Just tell us a little about what you’re hoping for.
